Allan Macpherson (1845-1909) was a Scottish poet and author. He was born in Glasgow and educated at the University of Glasgow. He was a member of the Glasgow Literary Society and the Glasgow Poetry Society. Macpherson wrote several books of poetry, including The Angel of the Desert and Other Poems (1889), The Poet's Dream and Other Poems (1890), and The Poet's Vision and Other Poems (1891). He also wrote several novels, including The Laird of Glencairn (1890) and The Laird of Glencairn's Daughter (1891). Macpherson was a popular lecturer and was known for his wit and humor. He was also a strong advocate for the rights of women and children. He died in 1909 in Glasgow.
