André Theuriet (1833–1907) was a French novelist, playwright, and poet. He was born in Paris and studied at the École Normale Supérieure. He was a professor of literature at the Lycée Charlemagne and the Lycée Louis-le-Grand. Theuriet wrote several novels, including La Vieille Maison (1876), La Maison de la Cour (1877), and La Maison des Champs (1878). He also wrote several plays, including La Femme de Claude (1876), La Fille de l'Aube (1877), and La Maison des Champs (1878). His poetry collections include Les Chansons de la Vieille Maison (1876) and Les Chansons de la Maison des Champs (1878). Theuriet was a member of the Académie française and was awarded the Légion d'honneur in 1891. He died in 1907 in Paris.
