Arthur de Carle Sowerby (1885–1954) was a British naturalist, explorer, and writer. He was born in China and spent much of his life there, contributing significantly to the study of Chinese fauna and flora. Sowerby was a founding member of the China Society of London and edited the "China Journal of Science and Arts." He authored several works on natural history and exploration.
