Arthur Gray was an American writer who is best known for his novels and short stories set in the Old West. He was born in 1856 in New York City and spent much of his childhood traveling with his family throughout the United States. After graduating from college, he worked as a journalist before turning to fiction writing full-time. Gray's first novel, "The Outlaw Trail," was published in 1890 and became an instant success, establishing him as one of the leading writers of Western fiction at the time. Over the course of his career, Gray wrote dozens of novels and short stories that were widely read and highly praised by critics and readers alike. He died in 1935 at the age of 78.
