Arthur P. Purey-Cust (1850-1909) was an English architect and author. He was born in London and educated at King's College, Cambridge. He was a Fellow of the Royal Institute of British Architects and a member of the Royal Archaeological Institute. Purey-Cust was a prolific author, writing on a variety of topics related to architecture and archaeology. His most famous work is York Minster, a comprehensive history of the cathedral and its architecture. He also wrote several other books on the history of English architecture, including The Cathedrals of England and Wales (1897) and The Churches of England and Wales (1902). Purey-Cust was also a noted lecturer, giving talks on architecture and archaeology at the Royal Institute of British Architects and other institutions. He was a member of the Society of Antiquaries of London and the Royal Archaeological Institute. He was also a Fellow of the Royal Institute of British Architects.
