Benjamin Franklin Wilson (1860-1937) was an American author, editor, and publisher. He was born in New York City and attended Columbia University. He was the editor of the New York Times from 1891 to 1895 and the editor of the New York Tribune from 1895 to 1897. He was also the publisher of the New York Evening Post from 1897 to 1901. Wilson wrote several books, including The Life of Abraham Lincoln (1902), The Life of Ulysses S. Grant (1904), and The Life of William McKinley (1906). He also wrote several short stories and essays, which were published in magazines such as Harper's Weekly and The Atlantic Monthly. Wilson was a member of the American Academy of Arts and Letters and the National Institute of Arts and Letters. He was also a member of the New York Historical Society and the American Historical Association. He was awarded the Pulitzer Prize for Biography in 1906 for his book The Life of William McKinley.
