Bliss Carman (1861-1929) was a Canadian poet and editor. He was born in Fredericton, New Brunswick, and educated at the University of New Brunswick. He was a prolific writer, publishing over 20 volumes of poetry, as well as several books of prose. He was a founding editor of the magazine The Week, and was a major figure in the Canadian literary scene of the late 19th and early 20th centuries. He was a member of the Confederation Poets, a group of Canadian poets who wrote in the late 19th century. His most famous works include Low Tide on Grand Pré, The Kinship of Nature, and The Poems of Bliss Carman.
