Bryce Walton (1917-1996) was an American author of science fiction and western novels. He was born in Los Angeles, California, and attended the University of California, Berkeley. He served in the United States Navy during World War II, and afterwards worked as a technical writer for the aerospace industry. Walton wrote more than 30 novels, including the science fiction series The Star Seekers and the western series The Gunsmiths. He also wrote several short stories, which were published in magazines such as Astounding Science Fiction and Galaxy Science Fiction. His works were praised for their vivid descriptions and imaginative plots. Walton was a member of the Science Fiction Writers of America and the Western Writers of America. He was also a member of the Mystery Writers of America and the Authors Guild. He was awarded the Hugo Award for Best Novelette in 1965 for his story "The Star Seekers".
