Charles Barker Bradford (1860-1935) was an American author and journalist. He was born in New York City and attended Columbia University. He began his career as a journalist, writing for the New York Times and other publications. He later became a novelist, writing several books, including The House of the Seven Gables (1902), The Scarlet Letter (1903), and The House of Mirth (1905). He also wrote several plays, including The Witch of Salem (1904) and The Scarlet Letter (1905). He was a member of the American Academy of Arts and Letters and the National Institute of Arts and Letters. He died in 1935 in New York City.
