Concepción Arenal (1820–1893) was a Spanish feminist, lawyer, and writer. She was born in Madrid and studied law at the University of Madrid, becoming the first woman to obtain a law degree in Spain. She was a prominent advocate for women's rights and wrote extensively on the subject. Her most famous work is the 1879 book La Mujer Del Derecho (The Woman of Law). She was also a founding member of the Spanish Association for the Advancement of Women. She died in 1893 in Madrid.
