Daniel Parish Kidder (1815–1895) was an American Presbyterian minister, theologian, and author. He was born in New York City and graduated from Princeton University in 1835. He was ordained in the Presbyterian Church in 1838 and served as a pastor in New York City and Philadelphia. He was a professor of theology at Union Theological Seminary in New York from 1845 to 1872. Kidder wrote several books on theology, including Theology Explained and Defended (1845), Theology for the People (1850), and Theology for the Times (1853). He also wrote several books on Christian ethics, including The Christian Home (1860) and The Christian Life (1863). He was a strong advocate for the abolition of slavery and wrote several books on the subject, including The Bible View of Slavery (1857). He was also a proponent of temperance and wrote several books on the subject, including The Temperance Movement (1871).
