E. E. Fournier d’Albe (1868–1933) was an Irish physicist, chemist, inventor, philosopher, and popular scientific writer. He worked on electricity, wireless telegraphy, radioactivity, and the emerging electron theory, helping to explain new scientific ideas to general readers during the early twentieth century. His books include The Electron Theory, Two New Worlds, and Quo Vadimus?, and he also wrote a biography of the philosopher George Berkeley. Fournier d’Albe’s interests ranged beyond conventional science into psychology, spiritualism, language, and speculative thought, giving his writing an unusually wide intellectual scope.
