E.H. Visiak was the pen name of Edward Harold Physick (1878–1972), an English poet, novelist and literary critic. He worked for the Indo-European Telegraph Company before becoming a teacher and devoting more time to writing. His fiction includes The Haunted Island (1910), a pirate adventure with supernatural elements, and Medusa (1929). He also wrote poetry and became an authority on John Milton. His literary interests brought him into contact with David Lindsay, the author of A Voyage to Arcturus. Visiak’s reputation rests on both his imaginative fiction and his work as a critic.
