Pellucidar is a novel by Edgar Rice Burroughs, first published in 1915. The story takes place on the inside of the Earth's crust, where humans and other species have evolved in a unique environment. The protagonist, David Innes, discovers a hidden world within the Earth's crust and becomes embroiled in a conflict between the inhabitants of this world and a group of invaders from the surface. Along with his friend, Dian the Beautiful, he must navigate this strange new world and defeat the invaders to save the inhabitants.
