Edmundo O'Gorman (1906–1995) was a Mexican historian, philosopher, and writer. He is best known for his work on the historiography of the discovery and colonization of the Americas. O'Gorman challenged traditional narratives, emphasizing the constructed nature of historical events. He was a member of the Mexican Academy of History and taught at the National Autonomous University of Mexico. His notable works include "The Invention of America."
