Edna Lyall

Edna Lyall (1857-1903) was a British novelist and journalist. She was born in London, England, and was educated at home. She began writing at an early age, and her first novel, A Daughter of Heth, was published in 1881. Lyall wrote a number of novels, including A Life for a Life (1883), The Autobiography of a Slander (1885), and The Story of a Modern Woman (1894). She also wrote several non-fiction works, including The Women of Christianity (1890) and The Women of Islam (1891). Lyall was a strong advocate for women's rights and was a member of the National Union of Women's Suffrage Societies. She was also a member of the Fabian Society, a socialist organization. Lyall died in 1903 at the age of 46. Her works remain popular today, and she is remembered as a pioneering feminist writer.
