Eglanton Thorne was the pen name of Elizabeth Emily Charlton (1852–1907), an English writer of religious and children's fiction. She was born in 1852 at Totteridge, the daughter of the Congregational minister the Rev. John M. Charlton, and went on to write some fifty books under the Thorne pseudonym, most of them for the Religious Tract Society. Her titles include Aunt Patty's Paying Guests, An Elder Brother, A Sham Princess, As Many as Touched Him, The Old Worcester Jug, and The Stolen Book. She never married, and died on 17 September 1907 at Plymouth.
