Elder Arthur Lawton Beeley

Arthur Lawton Beeley (1890-1962) was an English author and journalist. He was born in London and educated at the City of London School. He served in the Royal Navy during World War I, and afterwards worked as a journalist for the Daily Mail and the Daily Express. Beeley wrote several books, including The Story of the British Navy (1930), The Story of the Royal Air Force (1931), and The Story of the British Army (1932). He also wrote a number of novels, including The White Horseman (1934), The Red Sword (1935), and The Scarlet Sword (1936). Beeley was a member of the Royal Society of Literature and the Royal Historical Society. He was awarded the Order of the British Empire in 1945 for his services to literature. He died in 1962 in London.
