Elizabeth H. Jocelyn Cleaveland

Elizabeth H. Jocelyn Cleaveland (1817-1886) was an American author and poet. She was born in New York and educated at the Female Seminary in Troy, New York. She was a prolific writer, publishing several books of poetry and prose, including No Sect in Heaven (1861). Her works often focused on religious themes, and she was a strong advocate for the abolition of slavery. She was also a member of the American Anti-Slavery Society. She was married to the Reverend William Cleaveland, and the couple had two children. She died in 1886 in New York.
