Enrique Krauze is a Mexican historian, essayist, editor, and publisher. Born on September 16, 1947, in Mexico City, he studied industrial engineering at the National Autonomous University of Mexico (UNAM) and earned a Ph.D. in history from El Colegio de México. Krauze is known for his work on Mexican history and politics, and he has been a prominent public intellectual in Latin America. He founded the publishing house Clío and the cultural magazine Letras Libres. Krauze has written numerous books and essays, often focusing on the themes of democracy, power, and Mexican identity.
