The Hound and the Fox is a fable written by Esopo. The story goes as follows: A hungry fox once came across a hound that was fast asleep. Thinking he had found an easy meal, the fox crept up to the hound and was about to bite it when the hound suddenly woke up and caught the fox in its jaws. The fox begged for mercy, promising to never again steal from the hound's master. The hound, unimpressed, let the fox go with a warning not to be so foolish again.
