Eugene Field

Eugene Field (1850-1895) was an American writer, journalist, and poet. He is best known for his children's poetry, such as "Wynken, Blynken, and Nod" and "Little Boy Blue." He was born in St. Louis, Missouri, and attended Williams College in Massachusetts. He worked as a journalist in St. Louis, Chicago, and Denver, and wrote for several newspapers and magazines. He wrote several books of poetry, including A Little Book of Western Verse and Second Book of Verse. He also wrote several novels, including The Love Affairs of a Bibliomaniac and The Story of a Bad Boy. He died in Chicago in 1895.
