F. Anstey (1856–1934) was an English novelist and poet. He was born Thomas Anstey Guthrie in London, England, and was educated at Dulwich College. He began writing in 1879, and his first novel, Vice Versa, was published in 1882. He wrote a number of novels, including The Tinted Venus (1885), A Fallen Idol (1886), and The Brass Bottle (1900). He also wrote several volumes of poetry, including The Bath Comedy (1893) and The New Bath Guide (1894). He was a popular writer in his day, and his works were adapted for the stage and screen. He died in 1934 in London.
