Francis Lathom (1777-1837) was an English author and playwright. He was born in London and educated at Eton College. He wrote several plays, including The Water Spectre (1832), which was a popular success. He also wrote several novels, including The Adventures of a Young Gentleman (1830) and The Adventures of a Lady (1831). He was a prolific writer, and his works were widely read in the 19th century. He died in 1837 in London.
