Frank Chapman Bliss (1859-1931) was an American author, editor, and publisher. He was born in New York City and attended Columbia University. He began his career as a journalist, working for the New York Tribune and the New York Times. He later became an editor and publisher of several magazines, including The Critic, The Forum, and The Outlook. Bliss wrote several books, including The Life of William Cullen Bryant (1902), The Life of Horace Greeley (1903), and The Life of William McKinley (1906). He also wrote several novels, including The House of a Thousand Candles (1906) and The Red Cross Girl (1909). He was a member of the American Academy of Arts and Letters and the National Institute of Arts and Letters. He died in 1931 in New York City.
