Frank R. Stockton

Frank R. Stockton (1834-1902) was an American writer and humorist. He is best known for his short stories, which often featured surprise endings. He wrote over 40 books, including The Lady or the Tiger? (1882), The Griffin and the Minor Canon (1886), and The Bee-Man of Orn (1887). He also wrote several novels, including Rudder Grange (1879) and The Adventures of Captain Horn (1895). Stockton was born in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, and attended Princeton University. He worked as a journalist and editor before becoming a full-time writer. He was a popular lecturer and was known for his wit and humor. He died in 1902 in Washington, D.C.
