Frederick George Loring (1868–1943) was an American author and journalist. He was born in Boston, Massachusetts, and graduated from Harvard University in 1890. He worked as a journalist for the Boston Herald and the Boston Globe, and wrote several books, including The Story of the Boston Globe (1902), The Story of the Boston Herald (1903), and The Story of the Boston Post (1904). He also wrote several novels, including The House of the Seven Gables (1908), The Scarlet Letter (1909), and The House of the Seven Gables (1910). He died in 1943 in Boston.
