Bread Overhead by Fritz Leiber

The novel follows the adventures of a group of humans and aliens who are stranded on a strange planet. The planet is inhabited by a race of intelligent, telepathic aliens called the Kzinti, who are at war with the humans. The humans must find a way to survive in this hostile environment, while also trying to find a way to escape the planet. Along the way, they must contend with the Kzinti, as well as the planet's strange and dangerous wildlife. The novel is set in the same universe as Leiber's other works, such as The Big Time and The Wanderer. It is a classic example of Leiber's blend of science fiction and fantasy, and is considered one of his best works.
