Fulton Oursler (1893-1952) was an American journalist, writer, and editor. He is best known for "The Greatest Story Ever Told," a comprehensive overview of the Bible's narrative, first published in 1949. Born in Indianapolis, Indiana, Oursler graduated from DePauw University and worked as a reporter for several newspapers before joining the Chicago Tribune. In the 1920s, he became a prominent journalist and editor, serving as managing editor of the Chicago Daily News and later editor-in-chief of the New York Graphic. "The Greatest Story Ever Told" provides a detailed account of the Bible's narrative from creation to the life and teachings of Jesus Christ. The book quickly became a bestseller. Oursler continued to write and edit throughout his life, producing several other books on religious and historical topics. He was also a popular radio personality, hosting "The Fulton Oursler Show" on NBC.
