G.B. Barton was an Australian author and journalist who wrote extensively on the politics and history of the Australian Federation. He was born in 1868 in Sydney, Australia, and was educated at the University of Sydney. He worked as a journalist for the Sydney Morning Herald and the Melbourne Argus, and wrote several books on the history of the Australian Federation. His most famous work is The Troubles Of Australian Federation, which was published in 1900. He died in Sydney in 1941.
