George Blackstone Field (1863-1941) was an American author and journalist. He was born in New York City and attended Columbia University. He began his career as a journalist, working for the New York Sun and the New York Tribune. He later became a freelance writer, contributing to magazines such as Harper's, The Atlantic Monthly, and The Saturday Evening Post. Field wrote several books, including The Story of the Great War (1917), The Story of the World War (1919), and The Story of the World War II (1941). He also wrote several novels, including The Red Badge of Courage (1915) and The Great Adventure (1917). Field was a member of the American Legion and the Veterans of Foreign Wars. He was also a member of the Authors League of America. He died in 1941 in New York City.
