John Madden Martin (1868–1937) was an English author and journalist. He was born in Birmingham, England, and educated at King Edward's School, Birmingham. He worked as a journalist for the Birmingham Post and the Birmingham Gazette, and later became a freelance writer. He wrote several books, including A Warwickshire Lad: The Story of the Boyhood of William Shakespeare (1916), which was based on his research into the life of the playwright. He also wrote a number of other books, including The Story of the English Countryside (1919), The Story of the English Village (1921), and The Story of the English Home (1923). He died in 1937.
