Georges Ohnet (1848–1918) was a French novelist and playwright. He was born in Paris and studied law before turning to writing. He wrote over 50 novels, many of which were adapted for the stage. His works often focused on the struggles of the working class and the moral dilemmas of the bourgeoisie. He was a member of the Académie Goncourt and was awarded the Légion d'honneur in 1912. He died in Paris in 1918.
