Georgiana Marion Craik (1818-1887) was an English novelist and poet. She was born in London, the daughter of a Scottish minister. She was educated at home and began writing at an early age. Her first novel, The Ogilvies, was published in 1849. She wrote over 40 novels, including John Halifax, Gentleman (1856), The Little Lame Prince (1875), and Bow-Wow and Mew-Mew (1914). She also wrote several volumes of poetry, including The Poetical Works of Georgiana M. Craik (1876). She was a popular author in her day, and her works were widely read and admired. She was a friend of Charles Dickens and a member of the literary circle of the time. She died in 1887 in London.
