Gilbert Parker

Gilbert Parker (1862-1932) was a Canadian novelist, poet, and politician. He was born in Camden East, Ontario, and educated at the University of Toronto. He began his career as a journalist, working for the Toronto Globe and other newspapers. He later moved to England, where he wrote novels, short stories, and poetry. His works include The Seats of the Mighty (1896), The Right of Way (1901), and The Weavers (1902). He was elected to the British House of Commons in 1906, and served until 1910. He was knighted in 1925.
