Henry Graham Greene was born on October 2, 1904, in Berkhamsted, England. He was a Catholic convert and his faith had a significant influence on his writing. Greene served as a correspondent for the Times during the Spanish Civil War and later worked for the British Security Co-ordination in Washington D.C. during World War II.
