Hanna Diyab is a Syrian-American writer, journalist, and activist. She is the author of the memoir, The Girl Who Stole My Holocaust, which chronicles her journey from Syria to the United States. She is also the author of the novel, The Last Days of the City, which tells the story of a young Syrian woman's struggle to survive in a war-torn city. Diyab has written for numerous publications, including The New York Times, The Washington Post, The Guardian, and The Atlantic. She is a frequent contributor to Al Jazeera English and has appeared on CNN, BBC, and NPR. Diyab is a passionate advocate for human rights and has worked with organizations such as Amnesty International and Human Rights Watch. She is a member of the Syrian American Council and the Syrian Expatriates Organization. She is also a founding member of the Syrian Women's Political Movement. Diyab holds a Bachelor's degree in Political Science from the University of Damascus and a Master's degree in International Relations from the University of London. She currently lives in Washington, D.C.
