Harry I. Marshall (1890-1962) was an American author and journalist who wrote extensively about Burma and its people. He was born in New York City and attended Columbia University. He served in the U.S. Army during World War I and was stationed in India and Burma. After the war, he returned to Burma and worked as a journalist for the Associated Press. He wrote several books about Burma, including The Karens of Burma (1945), which was based on his experiences in the country. He also wrote several other books about Burma, including Burma: A Study in Economic Development (1948) and Burma: A Study in Political Development (1951). He died in 1962 in New York City.
