Fur by Hector Hugh Munro (1915)
The story revolves around a young man who returns to his home after serving in the Boer War and becomes infatuated with a woman named Ann. He begins to notice strange occurrences at her house and eventually discovers that she has been having an affair with a man named George. As the story progresses, it is revealed that Ann's husband has died under mysterious circumstances, and the young man suspects foul play.
