Hill Hickman was an English physician and author who wrote extensively on medical topics. He was born in 1777 in London and studied medicine at St. Thomas's Hospital. He was a Fellow of the Royal College of Physicians and a Member of the Royal Society. Hickman wrote several books on medical topics, including A Letter on Suspended Animation, which was published in 1824. In this book, he discussed the possibility of suspending life in order to preserve it, and the potential medical applications of this technique. He also wrote on topics such as the effects of alcohol on the body, the use of electricity in medicine, and the use of opium as a medicine. Hickman died in 1845.
