Henry V. Boynton (1845-1917) was an American author, journalist, and lecturer. He was born in New York City and educated at the University of Rochester. He began his career as a journalist, writing for the New York Tribune and other newspapers. He later became a lecturer and wrote several books, including The Life of Abraham Lincoln (1890), The Life of Ulysses S. Grant (1891), and The Life of William McKinley (1901). He also wrote several books on the Civil War, including The Story of the Civil War (1895) and The History of the Civil War (1902). He was a member of the New York Historical Society and the American Historical Association.
