J.D. Beresford

J.D. Beresford (1873–1947) was an English novelist and short story writer. He was born in London and educated at Dulwich College. He worked as a civil servant for the Board of Trade and the Ministry of Labour before becoming a full-time writer in 1912. He wrote over 30 novels, many of which were set in the fictional town of Wrychester. His works often explored themes of social injustice and class struggle. He was a member of the Fabian Society and a pacifist. He was also a member of the Society of Authors and the Royal Society of Literature.
