John Stamers (1919-2006) was an English author and journalist. He was born in London and educated at the University of Oxford. He worked as a journalist for the Daily Express and the Sunday Times, and wrote several books, including E Being (1962), a novel about a man's search for meaning in life. He also wrote several non-fiction books, including The Making of a Modern World (1966) and The New World of Science (1968). He was a Fellow of the Royal Society of Literature and a member of the British Academy.
