Kazuo Ishiguro is a Japanese-born British novelist, screenwriter, and short story writer. He was born in Nagasaki, Japan, in 1954 and moved to England at the age of five. He studied English and philosophy at the University of Kent and later earned a master's degree in creative writing from the University of East Anglia. Ishiguro is best known for his novels, which often explore themes of memory, time, and self-delusion. His most famous works include The Remains of the Day (1989), which won the Booker Prize, and Never Let Me Go (2005), which was shortlisted for the Man Booker Prize. He has also written several screenplays, including the adaptation of his novel The Remains of the Day for the 1993 film of the same name. Ishiguro has received numerous awards and honors for his work, including the Order of the British Empire in 1995 and the Nobel Prize in Literature in 2017. He currently lives in London with his wife and two children.
