Jeremiah

Jeremiah was a prophet in the Hebrew Bible, traditionally believed to be the author of the Book of Jeremiah and the Book of Lamentations. He was a contemporary of the prophet Ezekiel and was active in the 7th century BC. He is believed to have been born in Anathoth, a small village in the territory of Benjamin, and was called to be a prophet in his early twenties. He was known for his passionate and emotional preaching, and his prophecies often focused on the destruction of Jerusalem and the exile of the people of Judah. He is also credited with writing the Book of Baruch, which is included in the Catholic and Orthodox Bibles.
