Jerry Sohl (1913-2002) was an American science fiction and mystery writer. He wrote over 50 novels and more than 100 short stories, as well as numerous television scripts. He was a member of the Science Fiction Writers of America and the Mystery Writers of America. Sohl was born in Chicago, Illinois, and attended the University of Chicago. He began writing professionally in the 1940s, and his first novel, The Edge of Forever, was published in 1951. He wrote for television shows such as The Twilight Zone, Alfred Hitchcock Presents, and Star Trek. He also wrote several novels based on the Star Trek universe. Sohl's work often explored themes of morality and the human condition. He was known for his ability to create suspenseful and thought-provoking stories. His work has been praised for its originality and insight into the human psyche. Sohl died in 2002 at the age of 89.
