Joseph Bruchac

Joseph Bruchac is a renowned Native American author, storyteller, poet, and scholar. He is of Abenaki and Slovak descent and is a member of the Nulhegan Abenaki Tribe. He has written more than 120 books for adults and children, including the acclaimed novel Code Talker, which was a National Book Award Finalist. He has also written numerous books of poetry, short stories, and anthologies. He is a recipient of the Lifetime Achievement Award from the Native Writers' Circle of the Americas. He is a professor emeritus at the University of New England and a visiting professor at Dartmouth College. He is also a frequent speaker at schools, universities, and conferences around the world.
