The story follows Doc Savage and his team as they investigate a mysterious cold wave that is sweeping across the United States. The cold wave is accompanied by a strange illness that is killing people in its wake. Doc and his team soon discover that the cold wave is being caused by a mad scientist who is using a powerful device to manipulate the weather. Doc and his team must race against time to stop the mad scientist and his device before the entire country is plunged into an icy winter. Along the way, they must battle the scientist's henchmen, as well as a mysterious figure known only as the Shadow. Will Doc and his team be able to save the day, or will the mad scientist succeed in his sinister plan?
