L. Roy Terwilliger is an American author and illustrator of children's books. He is best known for his series of books about the adventures of a young boy named Jack and his dog, Spot. Terwilliger has written and illustrated over twenty books, including Jack and Spot Go to the Beach, Jack and Spot Go to the Park, and Jack and Spot Go to the Zoo. He has also written and illustrated several books about animals, including The Cat Who Loved to Fly and The Elephant Who Couldn't Forget. Terwilliger has been writing and illustrating books for over twenty years and has won numerous awards for his work, including the National Parenting Publications Award and the International Reading Association Award.
