Leonora Carrington (1917–2011) was a British-born Mexican artist, surrealist painter, and author. She was known for her fantastical and surreal works, both in visual art and literature. Carrington's writing often explored themes of magic, mysticism, and the subconscious. Her notable works include "The Hearing Trumpet" and various short stories. She was a key figure in the Surrealist movement and spent much of her life in Mexico, where she became an influential figure in the artistic community.
